Why the Center for Freedom and Development?

As Afghanistan faces the resurgence of the extremist and totalitarian Taliban regime, the Center for Freedom and Development solemnly acknowledges it grave implications for our nation. The return of Taliban rule signifies not only a regression from the republican system but also a resurgence of oppression, extremism, and ethnic division. The crisis facing our land has entered a perilous new phase, fueled by unresolved political tensions, systemic injustices, and external interventions.
The root causes of Afghanistan’s perpetual crisis can be traced back to the nation-building process, marred by a lack of effective leadership and governance. The failure to steer the country towards security, development, and prosperity has perpetuated a cycle of conflict and instability.
The fall of the former Republic has once again transformed Afghanistan into a breeding ground for extremism and international terrorism, jeopardizing and threatening regional and global peace and security. The Taliban’s draconian rule, exploiting ignorance and extremism, poses a direct threat to freedom, development, human rights, and democracy.
By dismantling the former constitution and stripping citizens of their fundamental rights, particularly women who are relegated to second-class status, the Taliban have imposed a system of gender apartheid. Cultural rights are trampled upon, ethnic identities are suppressed, and pluralism and civil liberties are denied. The imposition of archaic tribal traditions under the guise of Afghan culture, coupled with the enforcement of a distorted interpretation of Islamic Sharia, further erodes the pluralist fabric of our society.
Forced displacement, land grabbing, and discriminatory policies have fractured ethnic unity, decimated the economy, and plunged the majority of the population into poverty and hunger. The criminal economy, fueled by narcotics and resource exploitation, threatens to undo the progress of the past two decades.
In response to these challenges, the Center for Freedom and Development has emerged as a beacon of hope, advocating for human rights, and pluralism. We stand in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan in their resistance against Taliban oppression and occupation, striving to mobilize public opinion and support liberation social movements across the nation.
Our mission encompasses enlightenment, intellectual engagement, and cultural resistance against terrorism and extremism. We seek to address the root causes of conflict and offer sustainable solutions for lasting peace and development. Through collaboration with experts and justice-seeking forces, we endeavor to promote human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
The Center for Freedom and Development is committed to fostering critical discourse, conducting research, and disseminating enlightening works to empower the people of Afghanistan. We recognize and respect all forms of resistance against Taliban occupation and pledge to continue our efforts in parallel with these movements.
Together, we shall endeavor to realize the lofty ideals of freedom, social justice, and equality, forging a path towards lasting peace, development, and prosperity for Afghanistan.
